This piece was drawn on my rooftop and is part of a series I began after moving to Brooklyn in 2021. Despite the view of the skyline from the roof, the crossroads draws me in more- part of an ongoing interest in intersections, places where lives pass and people merge. This body of work has everything to do about movement. Instead of capturing solid details, I wanted to capture the fluidity of the site-people coming and going, cars moving, trees in the wind- the setting sun.
Working with no light on the roof further obscured the imagery and the piece became an analog of annotations of fleeting moments of interest and scattered attention.  The goal in this body of work is a sense of movement-whiplash, that leaves viewers both enthralled and overwhelmed, an antithesis to apathy.
